As a comic book lover, rarely, a book that can surprise me anymore; nonetheless, “We Stand on Guard” by Brian K. Vaughan, have changed that: It’s an amazing work of art. From the writing, which done by a guy who wrote “Y: The last man”, “Lost”, and “Saga”; drawing done by a Canadian Comic book artist Steve Skroce, who worked on Cable, Spiderman, and Gambit. This dynamic duo gives us the best of both world: an intellectual dialogue and a masterpiece of artwork. The best part for me was, where the protagonist shot at the robot, for having crappy french. I thought it was well put. Where in the world do you see anyone got shot at, for having a really bad French accent? No, never, not even in France. In the first issue, it started out with a family witness destruction of Parliament and it ended with a group of civilian taking down a giant mech, that looks a lot like the walker from the Star Wars. So freak-in cool. Go get yourself a copy, if you called yourself a “Canadian.”
