Language – this is the main reason and the biggest reason against many working professionals; not just speaking but writing and listening as well.
Professional network – it takes years to build a strong supporting network. And it’s hard to starting doing this as we age, but there’s better time than now.
Understanding of law and regulations – this part can be very tricky, you can spend a lot of money on lawyers, consultants and wouldn’t able to get the RIGHT advice. As the good one don’t give for free and the free one don’t care. So be careful who you call “friend”.
Culture nuances – this can be sum in few words – whatever skills you think are great in Vietnam will not work in Canada. And it can be said for Canadian trying to make it work in Vietnam because each culture place value on a different set of scale.
Unwilling to embrace changes – this is the second biggest challenge after language. We live in a multi cultures society in Canada, yet many still wouldn’t move out of the “Vietnamese bubble”. It’s great to be surrounded by many who share the same view point, but shaded our view point, furthermore, our community is only 10% of the population. In order to achieve higher return we must learn to accept other people, the so call “main stream”.
