Hong Bang dynasty remains
Vietnam is one of the country that have the longest history in the world. Dating as far back as 12,000 BC. After leaving their tradition of nomad life, moving place to place and not settling down, the Vietnam people settled at the Red River (Song Hong), the river that runs from southwest China through northern Vietnam. Early Vietnamese were hunters more than gatherers, but our early father did cultivate plants and edible roots and use tools for such means. As results there is evidence that the domestic cultivation, such as growing rice, may have been earlier than in the Near East in countries such as Iraq or Iran. Vietnam may have been the early people who practice agriculture.
As culture rise and needs for protection from invaders lead to the first creation of Vietnam State in 2879 BC call Hong Bang or Lac dynasty, lead by Hung Vuong. There are many tales about this founder, such as having 100 children and taking 50 of them to the mountain and the other half to the sea. However the most influential history of Vietnam occurred during the Bronze Age. But that will be on another post.
Why am I start writing about Vietnam history you may ask? Well, as an absentminded refugee who have lived in Canada more than living among my people, I have no knowledge of the rich history of my people — the Vietnamese people. Since writing my first novel, I have learned to appreciate the heritage where I came from. I have come to realize that writing is the same as reading, I discover more of myself. I hope you will enjoy the rich history of Vietnam in the post to come.
Thank you for reading my blog.
