Hi Em,
How are you doing?
It’s been a while; I haven’t written to you – I am sorry. Life has gotten in the way. So, much is going on right now, that it keeps me away from writing these lines to you. I hope you are doing well during this pandemic. It is a crazy world we are living in right now. I don’t know how much I can last if we keep this up.
In Canada we are able to contain it, at least in the province I live in, but I’m afraid of the second wave like many other places. And the worse part is if the border keep on closing, I think it will get worse for everybody.
Anyway, I don’t want to start on the bad note, but I guess I need to write to someone, so, I write to you. How is your life over there? Is it hot like here in Toronto? For the last two weeks, it has been so crazy here, 30 plus all day, everyday. The dry heat made things worse. On top of that with anxiety during this COVID make people jumpy. Just a little touch will set people off. I have seen so many stupid people for the last 6 months, that probably last me a life time.
I think the psychological impact will be greater than the actual virus. I know my kids had to stay home since March. And September is around the corner, I am not sure whether I should send them back to school; for I fear my actions may have lasting consequences. I keep asking myself, if my father’s generation has to deal with such crisis, but looking back, I’m sure they have it worse.
The Canadian government doing very well, in helping its people. For those who stay home, they provide a two thousand dollars a month stipend, and for business they help with rent and wage subsidizes, which help tremendously. I don’t know any other country that able to help its people that much.
I’m grateful for this country.
Enough about me. Tell me about your work. What are fun and exciting things on your end? Did you get a chance to read any good book? As for me I finished couple of books in the last couple months. The most recent ones was “This will never work” by Marc Randolph. It is about Netflix. You know me, I have fascination for business book. I love to read these kind of stories. It allows me to peek into the works of other, I like to learn from their mistake and success. Growing up I always had a “thing” for business.
As I write this, my boy just come into my room and give me a hug, and complain in his sweet little voice, I’ve the music on too loud. Just so you know, I’m listening to “Money” by Pink Floyd.
Money, get away Get a good job with good pay and you’re okay Money, it’s a gas Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash New car, caviar, four star daydream Think I’ll buy me a football team
Money, get back I’m all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack Money, it’s a hit Don’t give me that do goody good bullshit I’m in the high-fidelity first class traveling set And I think I need a Lear jet
Money, it’s a crime…
Anyhow, someone is waiting for me for a walk. I will write to you soon. Oh before I forget, you know Tu Le, the girl that used to work for me. I just learnt she pass away, couple of weeks ago. It’s sad. She was so young. The worse part was, she left a 5 years old boy behind. Break my heart.
Enough of sad reading, let see each other in letter again soon.
Love
