Taste of sadness.

The sky was sunny and dry, but rain appeared out of nowhere. I ran and took shelter under a tree, but somehow it followed me. I ran into our house, but couldn’t escape. It persisted. Tired of running, I stood still and closed my eyes in the hopes that eventually it would go away. It never did. It rained through my skin, seeped into my body. The coolness ran down my cheeks and saltiness lingered on the tip of my tongue. The rain touched my heart and crawled into my soul. My heart ached for it to stop and my soul discovered tears for the first time, whittled away..
